The project comprises a redesign of an existing modernistic building into a museum and open public spaces near the adjacent archaeological site along the Piraeus Cultural Coast. Urban design is proposed as a restoration of the natural slope of the ground, allowing for this new topogaphy to configure public spaces, pedestrian and soft traffic flows. These promenades form an L-shape that encloses the museum and concludes at the entrance to the archaeological site. The focal point of the proposed urban landscape is an extensive, elevated patio with a view of the Piraeus Port. The museum is landmarked by its steel roof inclining over new and existing structures that create an interior of multilevel arrangements of different functions and spaces.
